Cut the Cost of Footie: Blackburn benefit..

Season-ticket sales are up nearly 10% for Blackburn after the club announced it would reduce the average cost of adult season tickets by 25 percent.

The cut in prices has paid off with the sales increase being an improvement over the past two seasons.

Blackburn used £1 million from the new TV deal to cut prices and the cheapest season ticket is £249, one of the lowest in the Premier League, with the most expensive is being £399. Junior season tickets cost £99.

"We made a bold decision to cut the cost of watching football at Ewood Park after recognising the issue of cost was one of the reasons why some fans were staying away," said Simon Williams, head of commercial and marketing at Blackburn, "and we have been very encouraged by the sales of season tickets so far with our first home game still a few weeks away."
